Parking Spot Saver

On the left is an early prototype of a device I was developing in 2013 and on the right is the finished model. I have no training in engineering but took the project from concept to a production ready model (cheaply producible with a 40% profit margin) in under a year and having spent only a few thousand dollars on development. For years I would still get orders from customers but I'd have to apologise and send a refund because I hadn't gotten around to disabling the shopping cart on the website.


Software Engineering

When I was roommates with future tech rockstar and co-founder of Checkr, Jonathan Perichon, I became interested in computer programming. I decided to specialize in the up-and-coming Node.js, which is unique in allowing developers to write virtually their entire application in one universal language - JavaScript.

Over the years I painstakingly taught myself how to be a fullstack developer, designer and system admin (someone who does it all) using the cutting edge MEAN stack for web applications like my music platform, Enterprise Sound.

Enterprise Sound

This was a music streaming service for businesses that I cofounded in 2015 with Lucas Gerbeaux. Similar to Spotify or Pandora, except that we also covered the licensing for our clients since playing copyrighted music in a business without paying royalties is illegal. For a monthly subscription our clients could listen to +100 stations generated by our algorithm. We wrote the whole platform to run on an AWS MEAN stack for a tenth the development cost of our competitors. But despite investor interest I abandoned the project to focus on bitcoin.

3D Animation & After Effects

While I was editing Cherries and Clover and other film projects I became interested in 3D animation and modeling using Autodesk Maya and Adobe After Effects. The amazing thing about CGI is that you're not just sketching an image, but creating a world, complete with physics, and then photographing it.
